Kali and Karmel’s new cat door

When Dakota doesn’t spend the day at Camp Bow Wow, we keep her in the basement with the cats.  We had added a dog run for her a few months back so that she could get in and out of the house to go potty.

Dakota loves to spend time outside, but we found it odd that she was spending a majority of the day outside in her dog run.  Little did we know that the cats were blocking Dakota from coming back inside.

So, we started blocking the cat door that we had purchased at PetCo with boxes.  While our make shift solution was working, Mike decided to build a more permanent option.

This is the cat door open.

When we’re at work, the door will be closed preventing the cats from getting into the main section of the basement where Dakota stays.
