Herman’s Gulch
Starting on an old sawmill road, this trail emerges out of the forested trees within a mile of traveling. The sub-alpine flowers add beauty to an otherwise rocky terrain. Towards the top of the trail, rock cairns (rock piles) lead the way to Herman Lake. (Description courtesy of gocolorado.com)

This is one of Sara’s favorite trails and we excited to spend the morning hanging out with her as we had not been on any hikes together yet this year!

It’s too bad that we only made it a mile or so in before the rain started coming down.

Not sure if we’ll head back to Herman’s this year…but we’ll try!
