Guinness goes to Camp Bow Wow

Today we headed to Camp Bow Wow LoDo with both dogs.  Before Guinness joined the family, we had been taking Dakota to doggie day care two to three times a week.

This morning it was Guinness’ turn to check it out.  Having only had him for two days, we weren’t sure how he was going to do, but after checking him in he was off to join the other dogs.

We checked him out a couple of times on the web cam and everything appeared to be fine, but there are also multiple black dogs that look like both Dakota and Guinness and unless you see their collars (Dakota has a purple collar and Guinness has a red one) you can’t be certain it’s actually them.

Today was one of my workout days, so Mike picked the dogs up after work.  I was excited to see how they did today, so he called me once they were in the car.  I was happy to hear that Guinness was fairly calm throughout the day.  However, the staff at CBW made sure to tell him that  Dakota is definitely the alpha dog in our family.

Here are some pictures of the “kids” tonight at home.  They were definitely pooped after playing all day!

Dakota was having a hard time keeping here eyes open.  Thankfully the comfort of the couch is helping…

Guinness has a hard time getting up on the couch, so he ended up crashing in the middle of the family room floor.

A little later Guinness decided he wanted to chew on his bone.  Notice that Dakota hasn’t moved?  She must really be tired!

The dogs are going to experience some together time in the basement tomorrow.  Hopefully today’s trip to CBW tired them out enough so that they sleep most of the day.  I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Before people start thinking that the dogs will be stuck in a dark basement all day and call animal control, I’ll clarify. The basement is well lit as it is above ground in the back and the dogs have a little door to let themselves out into a good size dog run.

Did I forget to mention that! I should have included a link to the dog run that Mike built for Dakota back in the Summer (http://www.1200mileswest.com/dakotas-dog-run/). Our fingers are crossed that Guinness uses today.

Glad to see that Guinness has a good home. After being a stray, he must feel like he has died and gone to heaven! Makes me want to get another dog, but with our traveling lifestyle, it’s just not an option at this point in time. We’d have to get a little dog that could travel with us to Cadillac, but Jim is not interested in a little dog.
