Dakota, Dakota, Dakota…

On Monday Dakota is going in for an  interview.  We are hoping that she gets accepted to Doggie Day Care at Camp Bow Wow as our plan is to take her there on Monday’s and Wednesday’s so that that she can play with the other dogs and not cause so much havoc.

A few weeks ago, she got a hold of a box in the basement, here’s the result:

The good news is that we were planting pots that week, so we used the chewed up Styrofoam as filler in our pots.

Speaking of flower pots, twice last week we had incidences where she knocked over and broke pots OR she dug holes in the middle of the pot.  I was able to save a majority of the flowers, but needless to say we don’t have any pots on the patio any longer.  I take pictures of everything, but this one was just too much for both Mike and I to handle….so no pictures.

Dakota has also taken to chewing on the deck.  Since we have a walkout basement, she likes to sit up high on the deck and look out at the neighborhood.  I guess the posts must look appetizing as she’s decided to chew on one in her spare time.  Although I talked to Brenda next door and her dogs did the same thing…so I don’t feel that bad.

So it’s off to Doggie Day Care for Dakota.  We hope she makes friends and most of all – behaves!

Ahhh…the joy of puppyhood. Sounds like you need the dog whisperer. They do have a spray that you can spray on furniture and deck posts that is suppose to keep your dog from chewing on them. I think it is called bitter apple. We used it when Christy was a puppy…I don’t remember if it worked.

We dropped her off at Doggie Day Care this morning, so it will be interesting to see how she does. From what I’ve heard she will be exhausted when we pick her up tonight which will hopefully result in her sleeping most of the day tomorrow. I’ll be sure to let you know how it works out! BTW – I hope you don’t mind but we’ll have her with us when we visit in July…more details to come as we lock down the dates. Miss you – hugs to both you and Jim!
