Funny Cat Blog

Everyone likes cats, right? If you like to look at funny pictures with crazy captions, you should visit I Can Has Cheezburger. The name of the site makes no sense whatsoever, but the site is fantastic.

For those of you who know my kitty Karmel, check out this post as the cat in the picture looks just like him: http://icanhascheezburger.com/2008/01/29/funny-pictures-aromatherapy/

What’s funny is Mike and I had pizza for dinner tonight.

Do you have a birthday mascot?

I do! Any guesses? Does the name Punxsutawney Phil ring any bells? Groundhog Day

How about a movie starring Bill Murray and Andie McDowell that was released in February 1993 - which is the same year that I graduated from high school.

That’s right…a groundhog!

Here’s a few factoids about my furry birthday mascot:

What’s so special about Feb. 2?

Celestially speaking, Groundhog Day on Feb. 2 is a “cross-quarter” day, about halfway between the winter solstice in December and the ver nal equinox in March, and is celebrated in some cultures as the mid point of winter.

What’s for dinner?

Groundhogs in the wild eat succulent green plants, such as dandelion greens, clover, plantain and grasses. They also are tempted by nearby garden vegetables. Who knew we were both vegetarians???

Groundhog, woodchuck — what’s the difference?

Woodchuck and groundhog are common terms for the same animal, the rodent with the scientific name of Marmota monax. Most closely related to squirrels, woodchucks actually can climb trees and also swim.

We painted this weekend!

After four months in our house, we finally decided to paint our virgin walls.Office paint color

I will admit that I was the bottleneck as I couldn’t commit to a color, but after talking it through with Mike and going back and forth a couple of times we decided on Martini Olive for the office. While we’re done painting, we still have to purchase a new desk and finish decorating, but here’s a sneak peak at the color.

Stay tuned for updates as we’re looking for a new desk as we speak and we also plan on using black and white photos of trains to decorate.

Henry’s Farewell at Falling Rock Tap Room

On Friday, a bunch Mike and I joined our fellow Indigians at Falling Rock to bid farewell to Henry Fieger who after four years with Indigio is moving on to a new position.

If you’re looking for a bar that has a wide selection of beer on tap, this is the place to go. That is if you don’t mind that the unisex bathroom smells like urine. Overall, a good time was had by all.Michael, Frenchie, Scott and JimJaala, Jim and TomMike and Ryan

The Tom Brady Video

By adding the Tom Brady video/song to the blog, I have completely mucked up the layout of the site. Stay tuned as Mike won’t let me remove the video as he plans on watching it daily.

UPDATE - I’m by no means an HTML wiz, but I did finally figure out the how to fix the issue.  For those of you who didn’t see anything, just ignore this entry and skip to the next entry so that you can enjoy the Tom Brady song.

My Brady…

If you didn’t know Tom Brady is a University of Michigan grad and therefore the current object of Mike’s man-love.

Does anyone else feel the same way? If you’re wondering what I think, I wouldn’t kick Tom out of bed for eating crackers.

World Clock

Our friend and former co-worker Cristine sent this World Clock link over to me and I thought it was interesting enough to share with everyone. Check it out and let me know what you think.  I was amazed by some of the categories and the numbers.

Go Pac!

Brett Farve

This is courtesy of a forward from my Dad. Mike and I are watching the game and are cheering for Brett and the team.

We’re also happy that we’re not at the game as it’s currently -2 degrees in Green Bay and that’s not even factoring in the wind chill.

Our Favre, who art in Lambeau, Hollowed be thine arm. Thy bowl will come, it will be won. In Phoenix as it is in Lambeau. and give us this Sunday, our weekly win. And give us many touchdown passes. But do not let others pass against us. Lead us not into frustration, but deliver us to the valley of sun. For thine is the MVP, the best of the NFL, and the glory of the Cheeseheads, now and forever. Go get’em. Amen.

Go Pac!

Veggie Corn Dogs

Corn DogsTonight I tried Veggie Corn Dogs based on a recommendation I got from my co-worker and workout friend Terri.

Being a fan of Corn Dogs at sporting events, I was skeptical that this veggie based product would tase anything like the real thing, but after enjoying two this evening I’m a believer. Mike refused to even try a bite saying that it was not right to make a vegetable taste like meat. He doesn’t know what he’s missing!

If anyone has any suggestions on other veggie alternatives, let me know as I’m always up for trying something new.
